Cerebral Palsy Alliance

Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation

The Research Foundation of Cerebral Palsy Alliance was established in 2005 to fund the best and brightest minds in Australian and international research into the causes, prevention and cure of cerebral palsy.

To date we have awarded nearly $10 million in grants and scholarships to 72 cerebral palsy research projects in Australia, USA, Africa and Europe.

In a few short years we have developed an international reputation as a world leader in cerebral palsy research.
Our grants shape the direction of cerebral palsy research, and are encouraging researchers to adopt cerebral palsy as their area of study.

In 2009 with the support of the Macquarie Group Foundation, we established the world’s first Chair of Cerebral Palsy to oversee projects funded by the Research Foundation in Australia and overseas.Professor Nadia Badawi, a leading neonatologist and one of Australia’s most recognised authorities on cerebral palsy was appointed to the position.

The Research Foundation also supports the work of the Research Institute – the research unit of Cerebral Palsy Alliance led by Professor Nadia Badawi and Professor Iona Novak.Through our strong international research network, we have achieved a global agreement on the areas of research that will have the most potential to lead to crucial breakthroughs.
