IMPACT for CP

Core Outcome Measures

Core Outcome Sets

In order to expedite research findings and combine trial data for meta-analyses, Core Outcome Sets need to be agreed upon. The COMET initiative defines a Core Outcome Set (COS) as “œan agreed minimum set of outcomes or outcome measures. It is a recommendation of what should be measured and reported in all trials in a specific area.”

It is recommended that these outcome sets ought to be reflective of the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF).

Work is progressing in this area and details can be found here:

IMPACT for CP will promote the use of ICF core sets that have already been developed and collaborate with interested researchers to develop core outcome sets for a range of study types that are in line with the aims of IMPACT for CP.
